John, today we’re giving special recognition to Marie Pinkney, a Run for Something alum who has joined the progressive movement for meaningful and lasting change!
Elected in 2020, Marie represents District 13 as the first African American LGBTQIA+ person ever elected to Delaware’s State Senate. Using her previous experience as a social worker, Marie carries her compassion for others in her fight for quality health care, educational support and government policies that uplift her community.
She’s even pushing for a bill that will make rules for people on parole and probation fairer, aiming to reduce rates of repeat offenders and improve the supervision process.
Candidates like Marie are actually fighting for a better future for young people and we’re working hard to recruit more candidates like her, but we can’t do it without your support. Please, will you chip in $5 now and help us bring an end to the gerontocracy in our country by recruiting more young progressives for office?
