James — AIPAC has made Jamaal Bowman their top target in 2024. The right-wing pro-Israel lobbying group has spent over $13 million against Bowman already with plans to spend up to $25 million. Even for a super PAC, it’s an extraordinary amount for a single House race.
Bowman is being targeted because of his support for a permanent Ceasefire and his criticism of Netanyahu’s atrocities in Gaza. His primary will be viewed by every single media outlet and Congress as a referendum on Peace vs. unconditional support for Netanyahu’s war on the Palestinian people. Bowman’s primary against his AIPAC-endorsed challenger is in just two weeks. We need your grassroots support to out-organize the right-wing money dump targeting Bowman.
Bowman is at serious risk of losing his seat in Congress because of AIPAC’s spending. But AIPAC has endorsed over 100 Republicans who voted to overturn the 2020 election. AIPAC is the biggest source of Republican donations in Democratic primaries. AIPAC is targeting any candidate critical of Netanyahu. This race is a sign of how broken our political and campaign finance systems are.
And because the right-wing pro-Israel lobby is spending big to elect a corporate Democrat who doesn’t even support raising taxes on rich people, we may lose a pro-Peace champion and climate champion in Congress.
When Bowman joined Our Revolution’s Fight for the Future Town Hall last night, he told us AIPAC had dropped another million dollars on ads against him. His opponent is the top recipient of AIPAC money in 2024.
“I need your help. They’re spending astronomically simply because we’re fighting for peace, justice, equality, and humanity — and specifically because we called for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza,” Bowman told us. “This is MAGA Republican money, too. The same money that goes to ripping away abortion rights and voting rights — that’s the kind of money coming into this race to get the first black man in history out of this seat.”
“They don’t want a working class person in this seat, they want someone who will bend the knee to big money in politics, and that’s something we’ll never, ever do because big money is what’s accelerating the destruction of our democracy,” he said.
