Tell Congress:
"In the next coronavirus emergency aid package, oppose new tax breaks for the rich and corporations. Instead, Congress must prioritize funding for direct payments to working families, safety net programs like nutrition assistance and Medicaid, aid to prevent evictions or foreclosures, paid sick-leave for all working people, protection for healthcare and other workers, saving child care centers, and supporting state and local governments on the frontlines of the pandemic."

John,
Today, April 15, is when we normally file our taxes. Let's take a moment to remind every member of Congress that we want to use our tax dollars as a tool to end economic inequality so that we can create an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.
Add your name! Tell Congress we need to focus COVID-19 legislation to provide direct payments to working families, a boost to safety net programs like nutrition assistance and Medicaid, and paid sick-leave for all working people.
The Covid-19 pandemic has laid bare the lines between the "have" and the "have nots" in the United States.
While millionaires and billionaires are retreating to vacation homes and yachts as their form of social distancing, millions of lower-paid working people in hands-on jobs like grocery clerks, food and package deliveries, and healthcare aides must continue to show up to work, risking infection on a daily basis. Highlighting another glaring sign of inequity in our country: a high percentage of these essential workers don't even have healthcare.
It’s time for Congress to prioritize those hurt most by the pandemic, not the rich and corporations. This means funding bigger direct payments to working families, safety net programs like nutrition assistance and Medicaid, aid to prevent evictions or foreclosures, paid sick-leave for all working people, protection for healthcare and other workers, saving child care centers, and supporting state and local governments on the frontlines of the pandemic.
Add your name! Join the Coalition on Human Needs and our allies in demanding that Congress prioritize the needs of working families, not corporate America.
Congress has passed three rounds of Covid-19 legislation, but, alarmingly, too much of the aid is dedicated to bailing out corporations and wealthy business owners without providing enough aid to laid-off workers, healthcare providers, and communities in need.
Did you know the Covid-3 rescue package includes $200 billion in tax cuts to the rich and corporations? That's nearly five times more than the $42 billion for safety net programs! And now, Donald Trump is calling for even more tax cuts for the rich and corporations in the next round of Covid-19 legislation.
We can’t let that happen! Tell Congress to prioritize the needs of working families during this public health emergency.
We are not going to let Trump use the coronavirus crisis as an excuse to carve out more tax breaks for his billionaire friends.
Thank you,
Deborah Weinstein Executive Director, Coalition on Human Needs
