One of the reasons why Big Oil companies think they’ll still be around in 50 years is because they’re investing heavily in the chemical industry - such as plastics, fertilizers, and cosmetics.
And just look at this chart of industrial emissions by subsector and you’ll see why this is so harmful to our planet. These two industries account for over 55% of our emissions!
These Big Oil companies have decided that the billions they’ve made from harming our planet is not enough, so they’re expanding to other industries that could exacerbate the climate crisis long after we run out of oil.
It’s no wonder why these same companies are spending millions of dollars against our SEEC members to elect Republicans who will do their bidding in Congress.
Thanks to your help in 2022, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 118th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
