Hi there!
The last 30 days have brought a lot of change. We know it’s not the change you asked for. Yet, we believe it’s reminding us of what matters most. Your health. The health and wellbeing of your loved ones. And the health and wellbeing of every individual animal. Because when animals get sick, we get sick, and our planet gets sick.
So, as we step into spring, a season of renewal, let’s take this opportunity to renew our commitment to our shared mission—to end the abuse of animals raised for food—and with it, to repair our broken food system.
Here’s how we can restart, together:
Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day
Mark your calendars: April 22nd is Earth Day!
This year, we’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in partnership with the Earth Day Network to connect the dots between animal agriculture and climate change.
As the climate crisis grows more urgent, it’s more important than ever to take a stand for our shared home. This year, in light of the ongoing COVID-19 [[link removed]] pandemic, we’re hosting a completely virtual protest for the animals and the planet. From April 18th through the 25th, you can make a difference by creating and sharing a protest sign with a message to try eating veg #ForThePlanet on social media.

Fixing Our Broken Food System by Fighting for its Workers
Exploitative meat companies harm animals and employees, putting profit above compassion and care. To repair our broken food system, and ultimately end the abuse of animals raised for food, we must stand up against the many injustices in this unethical industry.
Slaughterhouse workers are among the hardest hit during the COVID-19 outbreak, being forced to work in tightly packed and unsanitary conditions. To learn more about how we can find common ground and stand up together against these massive, exploitative companies, check out our recent article.

THL Team Tips for Working from Home
“If the weather is nice, and you have a good balcony or porch, work outside,” says Zoë Sigle, a Corporate Relations Specialist at The Humane League.
“Adopt (or foster) a dog so that you have a reason to leave the house,” suggests Maitlyn Healy, one of our Regional Field Organizers.
Adjusting to working from home can come with challenges. It can also be filled with fun and peace of mind that comes when you’re not commuting! From building your own at-home office space to taking some time to be productive outside, there are plenty of ways you can make the most of this time at home.
