Local Volunteer Groups Impact

Alliance For Children!

We've recently been blessed with many wonderful volunteer groups that have dedicated their time and talents to help us better serve our children. We're thankful for community who wants to pour into our mission through

a variety of avenues!

Keller Williams Realty spent May 9th with us on as part of their "Red Day" - a nationwide company service day set aside to volunteer and impact their communities.

They constructed 19 planter boxes for our Clinical Program's Survivor Garden, a therapeutic activity that reflects the child's own personal healing journey. Just as a garden needs healthy reinforcements like water, sunlight, and nutrition, our kids will see that given the tools to do so, they too can grow strong and healthy out of their trauma!

Alcon donated large boxes full of "Fresh Start Kits", or "Hygiene Kits", as part of Alcon in Action - a day dedicated to giving back within local communities.

"Fresh Start Kits" are a great way to help families maintain their personal hygiene and health. Displaced families and children often lack access to basic hygiene items, which can lead to various health issues. This donation will continue to help many of our clients get back on their feet with dignity!

A huge thank you to both Keller Williams Realty and Alcon in Action for your efforts and passion in helping us serve our kiddos!

Program Highlight: Child-Center Play Therapy

"Toys are children's words and play is their language." - Gary L. Landreth

At Alliance For Children we aim to provide the most beneficial services to every family we serve and as we know, abuse knows no age. Our playrooms, and therapists trained in Play Therapy, are able to provide a safe space for our youngest clients to have the necessary tools to process the traumatic experiences they have endured.

Child-Center Play Therapy is an evidence-based therapeutic modality in which sessions are held in a playroom. In these therapeutic playrooms, toys are selected, not collected - therefore, every toy serves a purpose and provides children the means to express themselves through their first, natural language - PLAY. Through Play Therapy we are able to provide counseling services for children as young as 2 years old through 9 years old, or any child who has difficulty expressing themselves. Between May 1, 2023 - May 31, 2024, we provided 100 clients with 939 sessions of play therapy.

Help us stock up on some new play therapy toys to ensure our youngest clinical kiddos have a chance to process their trauma. See the link below to our Amazon wish list to make healing a reality in our play therapy rooms!
