As we celebrate Pride Month, we want to honor the incredible affirming adults and young advocates who are actively creating positive change for LGBTQ+ young people. Their dedication and support are making a significant impact, fostering environments where every young person can thrive.

Parker: Growing up in Wisconsin, Parker (they/them) came out twice—first as bisexual, then as nonbinary. Using their expertise in user experience, Parker developed Q Guide, an app providing educational resources for parents and allies.

Carmen: Carmen (she/they), a Black trans woman from Philadelphia, worked with her school during her senior year to educate staff and advocate for herself and others, creating an accepting environment that profoundly impacted their well-being.

Celebrate Pride In Your Community

Show your support for LGBTQ+ youth by attending local Pride events and celebrating their identities. These events provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community, show solidarity, and make LGBTQ+ young people feel seen and valued. Here are some upcoming Pride events around the country:

Baltimore Pride, June 10th - June 16th
Pride Portland, June 15th
Chicago Pride, June 22nd - June 23rd
