Dear John,

Let me start with the good news about Sunday’s election results: We are proud to have elected MEPs across Europe, including new partner parties in Central and Eastern Europe like Croatia, Latvia, Slovenia, and Lithuania, as well as strong Green voices from Southern Europe, with the return to the EP of the Italian Greens after 15 years!

Greens came in first in Denmark and the Netherlands and remain a strong Green voice in many countries, as Sweden, Austria, Finland and Luxembourg.

Although we acknowledge the important setbacks we had in some countries, this is an important milestone for our political family and our representation in the European Parliament.

At the same time, we are extremely concerned about the rise of the far-right in many EU countries, particularly in France, Germany, and Austria.

Today, we can ensure you once again that we will work tirelessly against a far right that wants to take away our freedoms and for a Europe of equality, freedom and human rights for everyone!

But now we want to know: How do you feel about the results today:

As we look ahead to the coming years, the Greens are committed to being a constructive force within the European Parliament. We will keep on countering the far-right's influence and fight for a better Green Deal as well as for a more just and future-proof Europe.

This will not work without your support. That’s why today is the best moment to get involved. Join one of our member parties and help us build a strong Green force across Europe to fight the far right and the climate crisis!

John, I really appreciate your support throughout this campaign, and I also want to thank everyone who voted Green. In the coming 5 years, it is up to us to expand the Green Deal, make it a Green and Social Deal which works for everyone and to protect Europe against the far right.
