In the Central Asian country of Tajikistan, a needs assessment conducted by one of Outright International’s partners — who asked not to be publicly named for security reasons — confirmed that most lesbian, bisexual, trans and queer women live in constant fear for their lives. In addition to the increased risk of violence, extreme discrimination can lead to homelessness, unemployment, and severe mental health issues.

As we know, Tajikistan is but one example of what is happening to our communities across the world.
