Hi Friend,
Earth Day is just one week away, and while we can’t attend Earth Day events this year, we can still connect with one another to celebrate and protect our planet. Some of you have joined us in 22 days of “eco-challenges” that focus on small actions you can take to decrease your impact on the environment. Thank you! When we work together, our small steps can truly add up.
I’d also like to announce a special matching gift offer from a very special donor, JoAnne Miller.
JoAnne and her husband Lincoln first joined Population Connection (then ZPG) in 1970. In addition to remaining steadfast members for an incredible 50 years, Linc and JoAnne also used Population Education’s materials in their classrooms, after-school programs, and summer camps throughout their careers as educators.
They both understood how transformative a deeper understanding of population trends and dynamics could be for students.
Together, they were also committed to supporting global reproductive rights and recognized that personal autonomy and choice are critical to making our world a better place.
We were saddened to learn of Linc’s passing earlier this year. We are inspired by JoAnne’s determination to continue supporting our work in his memory.
In Linc’s honor, and as a testament to their shared, lifelong commitment to global population stabilization, JoAnne will generously match your gift toward our Earth Day Matching Gift Challenge, dollar for dollar, up to $6,000.
You can make a gift towards the campaign here.
I hope you’re staying safe and well. We deeply appreciate your ongoing commitment to stabilizing global population, especially during this uncertain time.
Warm regards,
Shauna Scherer
