Hey everyone – happy Pride Month!
Pride Month is a month in which we are dedicated to the celebration and commemoration of the LGBTQ+ community.
Throughout my career, I have consistently championed the rights of our LGBTQ+ community, ensuring their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed in Congress.
I firmly believe that everyone deserves to live authentically and without fear of discrimination or prejudice. Over my time in Congress, I have consistently earned a 100% rating from the Human Rights Campaign by supporting legislation that protects LGBTQ+ rights, such as repealing the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy and co-sponsoring legislation that would finally make the Equal Rights Amendment the law of the land. I have also voted in favor of the Equality Act, which seeks to provide comprehensive anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ individuals.
In the face of increasing attacks on LGBTQ+ communities across the country, both from within Congress, and at the state level, we need someone in office who will fight for the LGTBQ+ community now more than ever.
I am proud to have fought tirelessly throughout my tenure to protect the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans, and my promise is that I will not stop now. Happy Pride Month to all!
