John,
There’s no doubt this is a trying time for all of us, but I’ve been encouraged to see so many in our community come together during this crisis.
Neighbors are taking care of neighbors. I've heard stories of business owners going above and beyond for their employees. Folks are giving more and volunteering their time to those in need. And of course, our nurses and first responders are displaying incredible heroism and dedication.
But with each passing week, the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic grows deeper. Many in our communities are struggling to pay the bills and won't see federal relief for weeks. In many households, children are at home no longer able to receive free meals at schools -- adding even more financial strain on working families.
I'm reaching out because food banks in our community are still seeing a surge in demand and need our support. Will you join me in making a contribution to support San Diego and Orange County based food banks to help families in need?
If you’ve saved your information with ActBlue Express, your contribution will be instantly split between Feed San Diego COVID-19, Meals on Wheels Orange County, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
The idea that parents in our community are forced to choose between paying essential bills or putting food on the table for their young kids should concern everyone.
I know this is a financially trying time for many of us, so I understand if you are unable to donate right now. But please know that splitting just $3 or $5 between these organizations will go a long way.
It may not seem like a lot, but if we
all come together, we can do a ton of good and make a huge impact for those in need.
So if you are able, please join me in supporting three Food Banks based in San Diego and Orange County that are providing coronavirus relief to those in need.
Thanks for your support,
Mike
