I wanted to make sure you heard about this, John:

I ran a half marathon (without training!!) last night. Honestly, I’m pretty sore today, but it was all worth it -- and let me tell you why.

Sonny Perdue and the Trump Administration are trying to cut the pay of 250,000 H2A farmworkers in the middle of a pandemic .

Farmworkers are essential frontline workers right now, helping to put food on our tables and keep our grocery stores stocked. Despite their critical work every day ensuring our health and well-being, they earn an average of only $11,000 a year -- and now the Trump Administration wants to slash their pay even further.

I ran a half marathon last night (click here for a video update >> [link removed]) to raise funds for an organization that serves our farmworkers and that’s why I’m running for Congress too: to be a voice for rural, working, and underserved communities that have been silenced for too long.

The Trump Administration is using a shameful excuse of “helping farmers” to attack immigrants and cut the pay of vulnerable people. We don’t have to hurt farmworkers to help farmers. Instead, we should help all those who need it most and not continue to be at the beck and call of multinational corporations and the 1%.

Steve King doesn’t have the backs of our farmworkers and farmers. That’s why I’m asking: if you’re able to, can you chip in $5 to help me defeat him?

We can’t let the administration cut farmworkers’ pay, in this crisis or at any time. These are folks who are often paid less than a dollar for a bucket of produce, day in and day out.
