June is National Gun Violence Awareness Month, a time to reflect on the urgent need to protect our communities from gun violence.

As West Michigan’s representative and a member of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, I have dedicated my first year in Congress to safeguarding our communities. In my first term, I’ve worked tirelessly to advocate for gun violence prevention legislation, including an assault weapons ban.

This month, I reaffirm my commitment to creating a safer environment for our children and communities.
