Dear John,
Rep. Pete Stauber of Northeastern Minnesota (MN-08) just tacked five anti-Boundary Waters amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act. These amendments have nothing to do with national defense and are a clear political hit job on our Wilderness. He continues to use every tool he can conjure to greenlight Antofagasta’s Twin Metals sulfide-ore copper mining project. These amendments are being voted on TOMORROW in committee. If Rep. Stauber were to succeed, foreign mining companies with no vested interest in our public lands would have a final say on the future of the Boundary Waters.
But we will not let this happen. We are fighting back with everything we have but need supporters like you in our corner to keep fighting.
Your donation today will bring the fight to protect the Boundary Waters back to DC again later this month to make sure these reckless and dangerous amendments are defeated.

Rep. Stauber’s amendments would:
1. Rescind the Biden Administration’s mineral withdrawal that protects the Boundary Waters from sulfide-ore copper mining
2. Block andy future administration from protecting our Wilderness
3. Fast track mining proposals by shortcutting environmental protections and blocking federal laws meant to protect pristine and vulnerable places like the Boundary Waters
As long as Rep. Stauber holds any power, he and his anti-Boundary Waters cronies will do everything they can and it’s up to us to stop him. Save the Boundary Waters leads the national coalition to protect our Wilderness and our power comes from people like you.
In moments like this, it’s important to remember that thanks to donations from supporters and activists like you, we’ve fought off dangerous legislation that threatened Canoe Country before and we can do it again.
We need your support so we can make sure these amendments are defeated and our Wilderness is protected for all generations to come. Rush a gift >> [link removed]
