June 13th opportunity for input on Michigan?s Hydrogen Truck Stop of the Future
On May 24th, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, released a request for information (RFI) seeking feedback on issues pertaining to the deployment of a hydrogen refueling station based in or near Southwest Detroit. This facility will be deployed as a part of the MachH2 Hydrogen Hub, which was selected by the Department of Energy, though the Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs Program.
It is envisioned that, over the long term, this publicly available station will support the decarbonization of long-haul trucking along the northern half of the North America Free Trade Agreement corridor (Chicago ? Quebec).? In the near-term, it will provide fuel for a small fleet of hydrogen fuel cell trucks conducting local or drayage operations in or near Southwest Detroit.
Feedback is being sought from all parts of the hydrogen technology supply chain, as well as from organizations with expertise to offer regarding equity, labor, and environmental justice concerns from:
- Labor Groups.
- Southeast Michigan Community Members.
- Local Government.
- Universities.
- Manufacturers.
- Non-profits.
- Foundations.
