Right now, Congress is proposing funding for the new fiscal year for innocence grant programs and forensic science research.

These programs are critical in increasing the accountability, reliability, and fairness of the criminal legal system, addressing racial disparities and inequities, generating greater public safety, and providing the strongest possible forensic science tools to all stakeholders. It’s vital that they remain adequately funded.

Please, urge your members of Congress to support increased funding for innocence and forensic science programs in the FY25 CJS Appropriations bill.
