Dear Friend,
I am pleased to announce that last week, the U.S. House of Representatives officially passed the first of twelve appropriations bills for fiscal year (FY) 2025. As a veteran, I fully understand the importance of funding our military operations and the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies appropriations bill honors the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and addresses their needs.
Key Aspects of Legislation:
- Fully funds veterans' health care and benefits.
- Prohibits the VA from processing medical care claims for illegal aliens.
- Protects the 2nd Amendment rights of veterans by preventing the VA from sending information to the FBI about veterans without a judge's consent.
- Provides funding for maintenance and construction of the Arlington National Cemetery.
Congress still has a lot of work ahead and I remain determined to continue our work reducing reckless spending, holding the Biden Administration accountable, and providing commonsense conservative solutions to our nation's problems.
H.R. 8282, the Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act:
In May, the International Criminal Court (ICC) filed applications for arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The ICC ignores atrocities by Iran and the barbaric Hamas terrorists but threatens a democracy like Israel with baseless charges as she fights for her survival.
Last week, the House passed the Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act, imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) for their baseless arrest warrants. I was proud to vote in favor of the bill.
