Happy Pride Month, Virginia!
Today and every day, I’m proud to celebrate Virginia’s LGBTQ+ community — and I’ll always stand up for this community in the U.S. Senate.
If you’d like to join me, I invite you to add your name as a sign of support for the Equality Act — a bill that would clearly and consistently ban discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity once and for all. [[link removed]]

We’ve made so much progress toward true equality, and that’s only been possible thanks to the countless advocates and activists, including so many here in Virginia who never gave up — even against long odds.
You rallied, organized, and led us to an America where people can love who they want to love and be who they want to be. It’s sometimes hard to believe that it was just 2015 when the right to marry became the law of the land for ALL.
And we’ve come even farther since then, building inclusion and acceptance into communities, hearts, and minds.
But in spite of the progress we’ve made, the LGBTQ+ community is still under attack and targeted by hateful legislation in too many states across the country.
So as the nation comes together this month to celebrate the achievements and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community, we must also continue our work to expand critical freedoms.
In Congress, I’m working to pass bills like the Equality Act to further advance and protect LGBTQ+ rights by banning discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
To show your support for the Equality Act, please add your name to my petition today. [[link removed]]

This month and every month, I’m proud to be an ally to Virginia’s LGBTQ+ community and to serve as a voice for LGBTQ+ rights in the Senate — and I’ll never stop fighting with you until we reach our North Star of equality.
Happy Pride Month!
