Time and time again, I’ve demanded that House Republicans pass legislation expanding benefits to New Mexico’s downwinders. But Speaker Mike Johnson — a close ally of my MAGA extremist opponent Yvette Herrell — blocked that effort.

Less than two weeks ago, Mike Johnson PULLED a vote that was supposed to reauthorize RECA. And three days ago, RECA officially EXPIRED after House Republicans came together to block a measure to renew it.

New Mexico Democrats are standing strong together in support of RECA and New Mexico’s downwinders, and Yvette Herrell’s ally Mike Johnson refuses to do anything about it.

John, it’s up to us to fight for everyday New Mexicans in Congress — because MAGA extremists are happy to leave us behind.
