I'll be straight with you, I've done a lot of tough things in my life.

I played college football, tried to make it in the NFL and CFL. That was tough, mentally, physically, emotionally.

I served as a Capitol Police officer for over 15 years, those were tough some days.

But the aftermath of the January 6 insurrection was one of the toughest things I've been through. My pain, my trauma, it didn't end on January 7.

Even after the violence of that day, I dealt with death threats. I dealt with people harassing me for speaking out. And when I decided to testify in front of Congress? It was one of the toughest things I've ever faced.

But the fight still continues now. What happened on January 6 was an attempt to halt the peaceful transfer of power and to overturn an election. I defended our democracy with my life on January 6, and I will do everything in my power to make sure Donald Trump never steps foot in the Oval Office again.
