#WalkoutWednesday: Join SEIU President Mary Kay Henry and Reverend Dr. William Barber II LIVE NOW >>> [link removed]

John,

I'm terrified every day I show up for the drive-thru shift at McDonald's that I'm going to get sick. They won't even give us a mask or gloves to protect ourselves and we still don't have paid sick leave. It's outrageous.

If I got sick, I don't know how I'd pay for food for my family or for the medicine I need.

It's bad -- but these problems existed before this crisis. Our lives and our health matter just as much as anybody's, and it shouldn't have taken a pandemic for everyone to see that.

That's why I'm going on strike today -- on #WalkoutWednesday -- to demand basic protective gear on the job and paid sick days.

Join the livestream to stand in solidarity with our virtual strike. We go live with SEIU President Mary Kay Henry and Rev. Barber at 1:00 PM ET. >> [link removed]

Today I'm going on strike with other workers on the frontlines of this crisis.

As frontline workers, we deserve access to basic protections -- paid sick leave, personal protective equipment on the job, and the right to know if our fellow employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

Our jobs may be considered essential -- our lives and safety should be as well.

Protections for all workers can't wait. CEO's and corporations need OUR LABOR to turn a profit, and workers across the country are making it clear that we need protective safety gear and sick leave -- and we still need $15 an hour and #UnionsforAll.

Join our #WalkoutWedneday livestream today -- so we can fight for eachother and win the protections we deserve. >> [link removed]

P.S. If you’re an essential worker like me, take a look at some resources that might be useful to you like how to apply for food assistance or what to do if you’ve been put on unpaid leave. >> [link removed]
