Searching for a specific address on the Census Data Platform [ [link removed] ]

*What's New?*

We?re excited to show you three new features added to data.census.gov [ [link removed] ] over the past month ? all driven by your requests and feedback. Check out data.census.gov [ [link removed] ] and discover these improvements today!


* *Introducing our new search by address functionality: *You?ve asked, and we've listened! Search by address is here! You will now see an address search pin icon in the single search bar on the landing page of data.census.gov [ [link removed] ]. Interacting with this icon will provide a clickable list of Census Bureau geographies that an address falls within. Simply enter the street address in the pop-up window, as well as the city/state or ZIP code. Click a geography to add as a selected filter to view results for that geography or apply other search criteria to narrow you search.
* *Discover the New GeoJSON Button:* Looking to create your own custom maps? Simply click the GeoJSON button at the top of the map, and you?ll begin downloading a ZIP file containing the currently visible map boundaries in GeoJSON format. These files can be used to create custom maps using your own software.
* *Check Out Our improved API Button*! New this month, you can access the direct data API call using the API button on the table view. Just click the API button at the top of the table and you?ll see a pop-up window displaying data links. With these links, you can quickly access the data API call to use in your own third-party applications.

*How do I search by address using data.census.gov?*

The address search functionality on data.census.gov [ [link removed] ] allows you to type in an address and get a clickable list of geography filters the address falls within.

To search by address:


* Click the geography pin icon in the single search bar on the landing page of data.census.gov [ [link removed] ]
* Enter the street address in the pop-up window, as well as the city/state or ZIP code (example: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20500)
* Click the ?Search? button

* View the address card, which contains a list of geographies the address falls within. Click a geography to add it as a selected filter (example: Census Tract 9800).

* You will see the geography as a filter, allowing you to view results for that geography or apply other search criteria to narrow you search.
