Hi Friend,
Happy Pride Month!
Every June, we reflect on the history of LGBTQ+ folks, celebrate their
contributions to society, and redouble our efforts to make sure they’re
treated equally under the law.
We’ve made so much progress on LGBTQ+ rights; nationwide same-sex
marriage, banning federal employment discrimination, stronger protections
in schools. But for all the progress we’ve made, anti-LGBTQ+ groups are
working harder than ever to stop and rollback that progress.
We can’t go back.
Anti-LGBTQ+ groups are working hard to ban gender-affirming care, allow
discrimination by businesses, and more. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis even
banned pride colors from being lit on Florida bridges this year.
Our country should always be working toward building a more inclusive
society rather than excluding marginalized groups.
I will always work to protect the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.
I’ll continue working this month and every month to expand protections for
the LGBTQ+ community so everyone can love who they love and live their
lives honestly without worry.
Thanks,
Peter
