Dear Friend,
I've spent my life in the service of others, often helping those in their darkest hour. One of the reasons I'm running for Congress is that I refuse to accept what our society has somehow found acceptable — the almost daily violence of mass shootings.
As a senior executive at the American Red Cross I deployed to numerous disasters, so I know the human toll of a mass shooting is beyond all comprehension.
I admire courage above all else. That's the reason I'm NOT afraid to answer the tough questions. In the video, below, I was asked if I support an assault weapons ban.
After the horrific mass shooting in El Paso in 2019, I immediately went to the scene. I were there 6 hours later. Cowardly politicians did nothing to protect those families on that day — and today, still have done nothing.
We desperately need courageous leaders in Washington, or powerful special interests like the NRA will spend millions to defeat our campaign. However, I will never stop fighting for what's right. I'm asking for your help to not accept the unacceptable.
