Thanks to parents and teachers

*"A Message from City Council Leader, Cllr David Mellen:"*

With the Easter holidays coming to an end this week normally by now many children would be looking forward to returning to school; seeing their friends again and getting back to a daily routine. It is obvious that Nottingham parents have worked incredibly hard and imaginatively to keep children occupied at home and I thank you for this. To find more activities to keep your family entertained over the last few days check out our StayingHOME webpage [ [link removed] ] you can find resources here to help you stay happy and healthy at home.

Id also like to thank teachers across the city who will be working hard this week to create home-schooling packs for the start of the new term, as well as those continuing to teach in schools for children of key workers.

NCC call centre

Over a thousand people have now called the City Council to request help during the coronavirus pandemic, with almost 300 requests coming in over the Bank Holiday weekend. Around 1,250 parcels of vital food supplies have been delivered across the city so far. I would like to take this opportunity to recognise and thank the many council employees and volunteers who have pulled together, helping out in their communities, setting up and supporting this brand new service, or the many staff who have taken on different duties to keep vital services going.

Our Customer Hub service is available to those who are in the Governments shielding programme (please make sure youve registered for this if eligible) and to anyone else who needs support with accessing food supplies and prescriptions. Please do call the customer hub if you or someone you know needs support, or if you want to volunteer to help on 0115 915 5555 or complete an online form at www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/coronavirus [ [link removed] ]__
