This public health crisis has shown just how bad the economic and racial inequalities in our country are. We can’t be out in the streets, so we’re doing the next best thing.

To fight back, our Sunrise Dallas hub has joined the Green New Deal Victory Team [[link removed]] , pledging to make phone calls every week for candidates who will champion healthcare and a livable future for ALL people in Congress.

Join us by pledging to make phone calls once per week for leaders like high school principal Jamaal Bowman, and Kentucky’s youngest black state lawmaker Charles Booker. They will prioritize healthcare and green jobs as solutions to this crisis instead of air pollution and money for fossil fuel executives. [[link removed]]

I bet you might feel nervous about making phone calls to people you don’t know. I’ll tell you a secret. I still do. When I came to my hub’s first phonebank in March, I talked really fast and fumbled over easy words. People hung up on me.

Another Sunrise Dallas hub member, Kevin, kept encouraging me, and made sure I had everything I needed to succeed. By making calls for Green New Deal Champion, Mike Siegel, we made a difference in the fight for our future, and helped send him to his runoff in first place . After an hour of calling and some good conversations, I felt calm, even hopeful.
