Friends,
Picture it: From a distance, I watched Bob Lorinser, veteran Mst. Sgt. Blair Anderson and another dad standing behind the crowd, sipping on their beers and supporting their children and grandchildren as everyone enjoyed a captivating performance by a local band.
That simple act of presence reminded me of the times when all the hockey dads congregated behind the glass at games when I was a Squirt. They would stand proudly, uplifting their children and showing they cared about their lives.
Or, when my dad came to my first local music gig. He didn't know the words to the songs, and he didn't realize the garageband musical masterpieces for what they were, but, nevertheless, he was there.
Showing up matters.
That's exactly what he intends to do for all of us when elected - do what our current Congressman won't do. Show up.
Just like later on in the evening when the dads volunteered to serve beer at the beer tent. One of their happy customers found me in the crowd, leaned over and exclaimed,
"Andrew, your dad is slaying it right now!"
"We've come so far. I can't imagine getting to be your niece and saying, 'My grandpa volunteered at the beer tent at Pride Fest.' Some people might not consider this the typical 'Dad crowd,' but he's a breath of fresh air. We need to elect more people like Dr. Bob."
Friends, to achieve that, we need to propel our grassroots fundraising efforts. Your donations, big or small, make a significant difference in our outreach abilities. We are fostering communities where everyone is seen, heard, and valued.
Thank you for your continued support, and happy Pride!
-Andrew
