** Andrea Rodgers

My name is Andrea Rodgers and I want to introduce to you why I am the right person for Vice Chair of Community Service. With a 21 year history in the non-profit sector serving as Executive Director for two different organizations, facilitating events and putting effective teams together has been at the forefront of my career. As a 34 year Hawaii resident, I recognize the importance of building relationships and view this ability as a cornerstone of my success. I have facilitated partnerships and collaborated with many local, state and national organizations such as the Great American Cleanup, the nation’s largest community improvement program taking place annually in thousands of communities nationwide. I am a Weinberg Fellow recognized for non-profit leadership excellence. These skills will translate easily to my being highly effective as the Vice Chair of Community Service for the Hawaii Republican Party.

Being semi-retired I currently volunteer as the Vice Chairperson for the Maui County Commission on Persons with Disabilities and the Secretary of the Maui County Republican Party. If elected, my current employment provides a unique opportunity that requires me to make quarterly trips for service supervision to see clients on Oahu, Big Island and Kauai and these trips could easily be combined with facilitating community service projects in these locations in addition to community service projects in my home community of Maui. I believe there is a tidal wave of people waiting for a gentle invitation to join the republican party. I view community service as this gentle way to welcome new members as we all come together for a purpose of giving back to our wonderful home of Hawaii Nei.

I intend to be a Vice Chair to work along side the entire state, county, regional and district chairs.

I intend to ensure participation to help coordinate volunteerism across our state to the best of my ability while continuing the grassroots movement that our current Chair Tamara Mckay has started.
