At its recent convention, the TX GOP is considering a platform that would define abortion as homicide.

Texas delegates recently voted on a 2024 platform during the state’s GOP convention. And while this normally wouldn’t garner much attention from us, some of what’s in the 50-page document is truly wild.
Here's just a quick preview of what they're considering:
- Labeling gender-affirming care as "child abuse"
- Requiring Christianity and the Bible be taught in public schools
- Clarifying Texas "has the right to secede" from the United States
And that's not all, John.
Central to their platform is their hostility to reproductive freedom. In their proposed platform, the party advocates for new legislation that would, “solidify fetal personhood ideology into law, define abortion care as homicide, and criminalize in vitro fertilization.”1
John, this is appalling. The GOP has shown us time and time again that they will stop at nothing to curtail and strip us of our rights and freedoms. And it’s time we fight back.
We know we say this a lot, but the stakes of this election could not be higher. If we’re going to confront the GOP this year and beyond, we’ll need to be ready.
