This week, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 8580, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2025. This bill will improve the quality of life of military families and will ensure that our veterans have the tools and resources they need when they come home after defending our freedoms.

Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion

I was honored to co-lead a Congressional Delegation to Normandy, France, to express our respect and gratitude to our veterans and send the message that the United States will always defend freedom and fight evil. We joined veterans and their families, active duty servicemembers, government and military officials, and foreign dignitaries in observance of the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

As proud Americans, we must continue to honor and thank the brave heroes who stormed the beaches of Normandy in the greatest seaborne invasion in history to liberate Europe from the grasp of Nazi Germany. We must never forget the sacrifices of the ‘greatest generation’ who paid the ultimate cost for our freedom and the freedom of our allies by standing against evil during World War II.

Fighting for Israel Against Woke Foreign Actors

This week, the House of Representatives also passed H.R. 8282, the Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act. H.R. 8282 would impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) or any foreign actor who supports their effort to arrest, detain, or prosecute protected persons of the United States and its allies, including Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant.

This bill is in response to the rogue radical actors of the ICC going after Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu with no justification. Initially, the White House was supporting that effort, and now they've walked away because their radical-left in their own party does not any longer support the Jewish state of Israel. But we surely do. And we're going to continue standing up for Israel and against radical actions like the ICC.
