Protect the workers who protect the birds. They deserve a fair contract!

Hi John,

Here’s an important solidarity alert. Workers at the National Audubon Society are fighting for a first contract, and battling pay inequity and toxicity at their workplace.

Please see a message from Rodrick Leary, a member of The Bird Union, represented by Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 1180, below.

In Solidarity,

Team AFL-CIO

Friend,

My coworkers and I at the National Audubon Society won our union more than two years ago, but Audubon management has been trying to weaken our union and dragging their feet on settling a fair first contract.

Management has even denied discretionary raises to union members while giving them to other staff. This follows a pattern of pay inequity and a well-documented toxic culture for women and people of color at Audubon.*

We fight hard every day to protect birds and the places they need. We deserve a fair contract that provides good living standards and ensures the nonprofit's enormous assets do not flow to top executives at the expense of workers and the birds we protect.

Sign the petition to stand with National Audubon Society workers in our fight for a fair contract!

Our work is integral to bird conservation, science, advocacy, and education. With a fair contract, we will have the rights, benefits, and compensation to secure our livelihoods.

Audubon’s success lies in the happiness, well-being, and empowerment of its workers. I hope you will stand with us and sign the petition!

In unity,

Rodrick Leary
