Happy Pride, team!

Pride Month is about love, acceptance, community, and the fight for equality for all. It’s about honoring the achievements of the LBGTQ+ community, and acknowledging that the fight for freedom and justice is ongoing.

Last weekend, Mikie kicked off Pride Month down the shore with Garden State Equality — New Jersey’s LGBTQ+ education and advocacy organization. She was proud to join Senator Cory Booker, Congressman (and soon-to-be-Senator!) Andy Kim, Congressman Frank Pallone, and Monmouth County Democrats for a weekend of celebration.

As a member of the Congressional Equality Caucus, Mikie is fighting every day for a country where every person can live as their true, authentic selves. It’s why she’s co-sponsored legislation like the Equality Act, which would protect individuals from discrimination in employment, housing, and education simply because of who they love or how they identify.

And as we see an alarming spike in anti-LGBTQ+ bills targeting health care access for queer youth, campaigns to ban books about LGBTQ+ history and culture, and rhetoric designed to stoke fear and hate in our communities, Mikie is speaking out and taking action.
