John,Just over one year ago, Mayor Eric Adams ranted about me for nearly two minutes in front of cameras at a live streamed press conference — doing a (mildly offensive) impression of me and calling me “the loudest person in the city.”

The truth is, John, I am pretty loud when it comes to certain issues.

I was loud about the City’s contact with controversial vendor DocGo, which my office found was unable to provide the very services it was hired to provide to asylum seekers — eventually pushing the Adams Administration to cut ties with the company.

I’m loud about securing hardworking city workers the pay and dignity they deserve. In fact, my office has won over $8 million in back wages and settlements owed to workers since 2022.

And I’m loud about New York City’s need for better emergency preparedness and better leadership during climate and weather disasters—especially after my office recently found that the City was woefully unprepared to respond when Hurricane Ida hit.

I’ll continue being loud about the issues that matter and rising to face our city’s challenges head on, because I believe when we come together, we have what it takes to deliver the competent government that New York City needs most.
