Dear John,
We’re less than a month away from the June 29th “Mass Poor People’s & Low-Wage Workers’ Assembly & Moral March on Washington D.C. & to the Polls.”
Momentum is building.
As of this week, delegations from 37 states and counting, and a growing coalition of more than 25 national mobilizing partners and organizations will be turning out in Washington D.C. At the gathering, we will center the issues that impact over 135 million poor and low-wealth people across the nation and demand that candidates running for office embrace a moral public policy agenda that can help end poverty and low wealth across the nation.
As you know, it is unacceptable that poverty is the fourth leading cause of death in our country, claiming 800 lives daily, 295,000 annually. Thousands of poor and low-wage workers, impacted people, and allies will join us in the nation’s capital.
Somebody is hurting our people and it’s gone on far too long. We won’t be silent anymore.
If you’re part of an organization that believes in centering poor and low-wage people in our politics, now is the time to sign on as a mobilizing partner for the June 29th assembly and moral march.
As a mobilizing partner, you will:
Mobilize your base and bring a delegation of your supporters to the nation’s capital.
Spread the word using our June 29th Communications Toolkit to help promote the mass assembly and moral march via social media, email and other communications platforms.
Help recruit additional allies and organizations to join as mobilizing partners.
We need a fusion coalition to address the interlocking injustices of systemic racism, systemic poverty, ecological devastation, denial of healthcare, militarism, and the false moral narrative of religious nationalism. Poor and low-wealth people account for one-third of eligible voters and, yet, political campaigns have too often ignored our pressing concerns. This election year and beyond, we will change that.
Register to be a mobilizing partner today.
This Monday, June 10th, we are also hosting two events in Washington D.C. within the DMV area.
June 10th, 10 a.m.: Press conference with local and national faith leaders to announce new national and DMV-area organizations who are joining on as mobilizing partners.Watch the livestream here.
June 10th, 7p.m: “Moral Revival: Clergy-led Prayers and Assembly for Mobilization” service at Ambassador Baptist Church in-person (1412 Minnesota Ave., SE) or online. RSVP and more information here.
Please join us as we work to build our power, change the narrative, and shift what is politically possible.
