John – Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

This month, and always, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. In a month of pride, it’s essential to acknowledge the grit and determination it took to get here.

In December, Ohio’s Governor vetoed a measure that would have banned gender-affirming care for minors in our state. Unfortunately, the veto was overridden by the Republican-controlled Ohio Senate. Discriminatory state bills like HB 68 emphasize the need for additional federal legislation to protect the rights of LGBTQ+ people nationwide.

The LGBTQ+ continues to face discriminatory bills every single day. As a member of the Congressional Equality Caucus, I will continue to fight for the rights of LGBTQ+ Ohioans and legislation to ensure equality and freedom from discrimination.

This month is about celebrating love in all its forms – regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or pronouns.

Together, let's fight against violence and discrimination and work towards a future where justice and equality are the norm for all.
