Iowa: By passing SF 2442, Iowa lawmakers voted to speed up the state's 2022 individual income tax cuts, instituting a 3.8% flat income tax rate beginning next year.
The General Assembly also passed legislation to address the workforce challenges in Iowa. Proposed by Governor Kim Reynolds, SF 2411 creates a Workforce Opportunity Fund of $30 million to support the state’s workforce programs.
Tennessee: This year, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development launched the “Tennessee Youth Employment Program (YEP).” This program was created to give students the opportunity to launch their career in high school, trade school, or college.
Like many other states, Tennessee saw the introduction of 'right to repair' legislation. Due to the complexity of this issue and the legislature’s concern that it would create conflict with federal regulations, this bill did not pass this session. |
