The next critical test for our campaign — our second end-of-quarter FEC fundraising deadline of 2024 — is coming up on June 30th.
Before I ask you to add a donation of any amount to help my campaign stay on track this quarter, will you please let me share more about what this deadline means for our movement here in Missouri?
Every three months, the Federal Election Commission requires every candidate running for federal office to submit the full report of their campaign’s fundraising numbers into the public record — everything from how much we’ve raised, how many donations we’ve received, and who we’ve received those donations from.
These quarterly reports are an important measure of transparency. They give the public an opportunity to look under the hood of our grassroots movement and hold us accountable. But everyday people aren’t the only ones paying attention.
National insiders, members of the media, and even Josh Hawley himself will have access to all this information too — and they’ll use it to make all kinds of judgments about the strength of our campaign. So here’s the reality:
We outraised Hawley’s campaign last year and last quarter, but we can’t take outraising him again for granted — ESPECIALLY since national Republicans and corporate mega-donors have already shown their willingness to spend millions to make Hawley look strong and tear down the movement we’re building together.
So we need all hands on deck this month, John. We need this grassroots team to show up, and when we submit our report after June 30th, we need your name to be on it.
That’s why I’m asking earlier than normal: Will you help my campaign stay on track to have another record-breaking fundraising quarter by adding a donation of $25, $10, or whatever you think is best today? I’m not taking a cent from corporate PACs or shady mega-donors in this race, so I’m counting on working people like you every step of the way.
