Once again I attended an event with my daughter only to hear a message of doom and gloom.
The Boomer generation had it the best.
Life is terrible now.
Everything is bad.
There's no fixing it.
Excuse me? I, for one, do not believe that God gives us sloppy seconds. Yes, there are challenges for the next generation, but are we to believe God puts our kids in it without a plan? without preparing them? without being with them??? My Bible says He goes behind me, before me, and beside me. So what's the problem?
I apologized to Lizzy. She just rolled her eyes and told me that's all she hears from the Boomer generation. [Sigh.] It's so overwhelming. How do we as parents counteract that, day in and day out?
From the time I was a child I wondered what it would have been like to live during our nation's founding. It's not every day you have the opportunity to rise up and do something as great as to stand up for freedom that would last for 250 years! I was jealous that I didn't get a chance to make such a profound impact -- I can never know if I'd have made a difference, or if I'd have cowered in fear. Now our children have that opportunity. What a privilege that God would see fit to use them! No pity required.
One might think that those who grew up in an idyllic America would have nothing but positive things to offer... That they'd take the greatness which surrounded them and make it even greater. After all, what obstacles stood in their way? There were no limits! And yet... look at the mess my daughter is inheriting.
I know this speaker was not intending to attack my daughter, but he was. He was clueless how powerful words can be. Stop with the negative messaging. Use words that inspire and encourage. You can help these kids see the call and rise to the challenge. Remind them what a mighty God they serve and how the victory is His! What a privilege for them to be alive and young and here for such a time as this!
As you can see this topic is a passion of mine. I hope it is for any parent of young people. That's why I'm excited about our keynote speaker for our 15 Years Strong conference: Massey Campos.
Massey is no stranger to True Texas Project. We've been enjoying his inspiring messages for several years now. This year his topic is "There IS Hope: America's Position In History." It's a topic for all of us. Whether you need the hope yourself or whether you need to learn to communicate hope to others, I hope you'll challenge yourself to watch your words and do your part to instill hope in our youth for the battles they face ahead.
There are other great topics our conference will address that I'm excited about... We'll unravel the confusion around Christian Nationalism. We've got an expert talking about the border. We'll dig into what expanded gambling would mean for Texas. We've got an actual plan for what we the people can do ourselves about the illegals pouring in. We're even gonna talk about things like white America and the Great Replacement Theory. The weekend will be edgy, controversial, and challenging. We are certainly not afraid to address tough subjects.
But none of those topics compare to Massey's topic. Without hope, what do we have? The next generation needs our fighting spirit, not our pity. To whom much is given, much is expected. If you grew up in that wonderful America that you are now lamenting losing, what are YOU doing to curb the tide and bestow that blessing on others? Much IS expected. Rise up.

Yes, there are challenges for the next generation, but are we to believe God puts our kids in it without a plan? without preparing them? without being with them??? My Bible says He goes behind me, before me, and beside me. So what's the problem?
I apologized to Lizzy. She just rolled her eyes and told me that's all she hears from the Boomer generation. [Sigh.] It's so overwhelming. How do we as parents counteract that, day in and day out?
From the time I was a child I wondered what it would have been like to live during our nation's founding. It's not every day you have the opportunity to rise up and do something as great as to stand up for freedom that would last for 250 years! I was jealous that I didn't get a chance to make such a profound impact -- I can never know if I'd have made a difference, or if I'd have cowered in fear. Now our children have that opportunity. What a privilege that God would see fit to use them! No pity required.

I apologized to Lizzy. She just rolled her eyes and told me that's all she hears from the Boomer generation. [Sigh.] It's so overwhelming. How do we as parents counteract that, day in and day out?
From the time I was a child I wondered what it would have been like to live during our nation's founding. It's not every day you have the opportunity to rise up and do something as great as to stand up for freedom that would last for 250 years! I was jealous that I didn't get a chance to make such a profound impact -- I can never know if I'd have made a difference, or if I'd have cowered in fear. Now our children have that opportunity. What a privilege that God would see fit to use them! No pity required.
One might think that those who grew up in an idyllic America would have nothing but positive things to offer... That they'd take the greatness which surrounded them and make it even greater. After all, what obstacles stood in their way? There were no limits! And yet... look at the mess my daughter is inheriting.
I know this speaker was not intending to attack my daughter, but he was. He was clueless how powerful words can be. Stop with the negative messaging. Use words that inspire and encourage. You can help these kids see the call and rise to the challenge. Remind them what a mighty God they serve and how the victory is His! What a privilege for them to be alive and young and here for such a time as this!
As you can see this topic is a passion of mine. I hope it is for any parent of young people. That's why I'm excited about our keynote speaker for our 15 Years Strong conference: Massey Campos.
Massey is no stranger to True Texas Project. We've been enjoying his inspiring messages for several years now. This year his topic is "There IS Hope: America's Position In History." It's a topic for all of us. We are certainly not afraid to address tough subjects.
But none of those topics compare to Massey's topic. Without hope, what do we have? The next generation needs our fighting spirit, not our pity. To whom much is given, much is expected. If you grew up in that wonderful America that you are now lamenting losing, what are YOU doing to curb the tide and bestow that blessing on others? Much IS expected. Rise up.

Once again I attended an event with my daughter only to hear a message of doom and gloom.
The Boomer generation had it the best.
Life is terrible now.
Everything is bad.
There's no fixing it.
Excuse me? I, for one, do not believe that God gives us sloppy seconds. Yes, there are challenges for the next generation, but are we to believe God puts our kids in it without a plan? without preparing them? without being with them??? My Bible says He goes behind me, before me, and beside me. So what's the problem?
I apologized to Lizzy. She just rolled her eyes and told me that's all she hears from the Boomer generation. [Sigh.] It's so overwhelming. How do we as parents counteract that, day in and day out?
From the time I was a child I wondered what it would have been like to live during our nation's founding. It's not every day you have the opportunity to rise up and do something as great as to stand up for freedom that would last for 250 years! I was jealous that I didn't get a chance to make such a profound impact -- I can never know if I'd have made a difference, or if I'd have cowered in fear. Now our children have that opportunity. What a privilege that God would see fit to use them! No pity required.
One might think that those who grew up in an idyllic America would have nothing but positive things to offer... That they'd take the greatness which surrounded them and make it even greater. After all, what obstacles stood in their way? There were no limits! And yet... look at the mess my daughter is inheriting.
I know this speaker was not intending to attack my daughter, but he was. He was clueless how powerful words can be. Stop with the negative messaging. Use words that inspire and encourage. You can help these kids see the call and rise to the challenge. Remind them what a mighty God they serve and how the victory is His! What a privilege for them to be alive and young and here for such a time as this!
