US retailers like Walmart and Giant are starting to ditch bee-killing
neonics, but Target is dragging its feet. If enough of us sign we could
get them to move – and help protect bees and birds everywhere.
Tell Target: stop selling food grown with toxic neonics

John,
Neonic pesticides are so toxic they can kill a songbird with just one
seed. And they’re decimating bee colonies everywhere.
But US farmers are still dousing their fields with gallon upon gallon –
pushed on by pesticide corporations who use dodgy science and billions in
lobbying to keep their poisons legal.
The quickest way to end this nightmare is for the big US retail chains to
refuse to sell food grown using neonics. Walmart and Giant have started to
move, but Target is dragging its feet. That’s why we need a massive wave
of public pressure to push it into action.
Target’s annual shareholder meeting is next week – it’s the perfect time
to ramp up the heat. Can you sign?

The science is clear: neonics can kill bees, contaminate our water and
threaten human health – they’ve been linked to serious health issues, like
birth defects of the heart and brain and hormone disruption.
It’s why the EU voted to ban these poisons six years ago. But incredibly,
US regulators have failed to follow, thanks to billions of dollars of
lobbying from chemical corporations like Bayer-Monsanto.
The good news is there’s another way to fight back: if shops like Target
stop selling food grown with poisons, then producers will have to stop
using them. And not just in the US – these retail companies import food
from across the planet…the ripple effects could be massive.
In the long-term we need rigorous new laws to stop birds, bees, and all
animals being exposed to toxic pesticides. But this is something we can do
right now to protect precious, vital species from harm. Add your name:

This is a fight we’ve been in from the beginning – and we’ve had huge
wins, like securing the EU neonics ban against all the odds! None of it
would have happened without people like you standing up for what’s right.
So let’s do it again now, for the bees, for the birds, and for all
animals.
