In a surprise to no one,
   John, Donald
Trump attacked me in a new bizarre hour-long interview with Dr. Phil.
Before I share what he said about me, I need to underscore this:
Donald Trump poses a unique and dangerous threat to our democracy. We are
at risk of seeing a convicted felon, who has no regard for the rule of
law, elected as President of the United States — a position from which he
could do unspeakable damage to our democracy here at home, and democracies
   around the world.

In an hour-long softball interview with Dr. Phil, Trump attacked the judge
in the New York trial, President Biden, and the jury of 12 Americans who
unanimously ruled he was guilty of 34 felony counts. He came after me as
   well.

“I call him watermelon head. He’s got the thinnest neck I’ve ever seen.
Very unattractive guy, both inside and outside. These are bad people.”
   John, trust
me — I’ve been called a lot worse by Donald Trump and his MAGA cronies.
What concerns me far more is how Trump, in this very interview and
numerous other recent campaign events, has explicitly called for revenge
against his political rivals. Rivals like me. Like his recent call to
prosecute me and other members of the January 6 Committee.
God forbid Trump makes it back to the White House, he will use his powers
to seek retribution against the people who have held him accountable for
his crimes and disgraceful behavior. Including me.
He tried to do this during his first term, and he lashed out at his former
attorney general for not going after rivals with baseless investigations
and lawsuits. But if he’s president for a second time, he’ll only appoint
cabinet officials who do exactly what he wants.
Donald Trump has promised to be a dictator on day one. He admires leaders
like Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un. That’s the risk he poses to our
   country.
[ [link removed] ]While the attacks start with schoolyard names like “watermelon head,”
they will only escalate from here,
John. We need to do everything
we can to make sure Donald Trump does not take back the White House.
Please pitch in to my work to support Democrats and to continue holding
Trump to account. It’s vitally important.

Thank you for your support. While I could spend some time coming up with
jokes about the orange man calling me watermelon head, I’m instead going
to focus on holding him to account and protecting our democracy.
