Welcome back to E-PAC’s weekly newsletter! | Chairwoman Stefanik: The Evolution of E-PAC | On Thursday, the National Journal covered Elise's historic efforts to support and elect Republican women through E-PAC. | In 2019, only 13 Republican women served in the House of Representatives, but as of December 2023, with Congresswoman Celeste Maloy's swearing-in, there are now a historic 36! | In 2022, E-PAC-endorsed candidates flipped critical House Republican majority-making seats, including Jen Kiggans in VA-02, Lori Chavez De Remer in OR-05, Anna Paulina Luna in FL-13, and Monica De La Cruz in TX-15. Read an excerpt from the article below: | “House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik’s PAC, once an insurgent organization dedicated to electing conservative women and bucking party leadership, has transformed into a de facto leadership campaign arm as the New York Republican climbs the ranks. | “We’re working as one team with the NRCC and our colleagues in leadership,” Stefanik told National Journal in an interview. “We think that’s a strength, because they know that E-PAC has been an incredibly strong pillar and driver of building this majority.” | The 2018 midterms decimated the House majority for Republicans, as voters around the country delivered a scathing referendum on Donald Trump’s first two years in office. Democrats flipped 41 seats, elevating Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the first female speaker, back to the top perch of the House. In that same election, 107 women won election or reelection to the House. Almost all of them were Democrats. | Facing this disparity, Stefanik, at the time recruitment chair for the National Republican Congressional Committee and one of 13 GOP women in the House, decided she needed to spearhead the movement to elect more conservative women—with or without leadership’s permission. She formed E-PAC in 2018 to give Republican women the resources they needed to win competitive GOP primaries.” | Read the full story in the National Journal here. | ICYMI: Rep. Elise Stefanik on Caroleene Dobson’s bid for Congress: ‘She’s going to win that race.’ | This week’s woman of the week, Caroleene Dobson, candidate for Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District – is making headlines following her E-PAC endorsement! Marianette Miller-Meeks won the Republican Primary in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District and once again became the Republican Nominee going into the general. This is a critical seat to hold, that Elise, House Republican Leadership, the National Republican Congressional Committee, and the Congressional Leadership Fund are all targeting as a ‘protect the house’ patriot seat! | Chairwoman Elise Stefanik stated – | “Congratulations to my good friend Marianette Miller-Meeks on once again winning the IA-01 Republican Primary! Rep. Miller-Meeks is a fierce advocate for the people of Iowa and we must return her to Congress this November!” | Yvette Herrell WILL Flip NM-02! | Tuesday night was also Primary night in New Mexico, former Rep. Yvette Herrell did not face a Republican Primary challenger – making her the Republican Nominee for New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District! Yvette stated — | “I am honored to officially be the GOP nominee in NM-02! Now, the real battle begins. I’m running against radical Democrat Gabe Vasquez, a candidate with a criminal record, deep-seated disdain for law enforcement and the rule of law, and a disgraceful voting record that aligns him with Joe Biden and the far-left agenda plaguing our country. I am committed to the values that make our state and our country great, and that’s exactly why President Donald J. Trump has endorsed my campaign. I am dedicated to fighting for New Mexico’s families, protecting our freedoms, and standing up against the radical liberal policies that threaten our way of life. I will always put the interests of New Mexico and America FIRST!” | President Trump endorsed Yvette on Monday, bringing even more attention to this MAJOR swing seat that Yvette will FLIP this November.
