Trump is trying to stop vote-by-mail.

Dear Friend,

Donald Trump just called vote-by-mail “horrible” and “corrupt.”

Then Trump said it should only be allowed for certain groups, such as senior citizens and the military—which would discriminate against millions of voters and force them to risk their health to make their voices heard.1

Our only chance for a free and fair election in November is if we all have access to vote-by-mail. Will you donate to help call on Congress to pass a national vote-by-mail law NOW?

Yes, I’ll donate $5 to help protect our right to vote with a national mail-in ballot law.

Last week, people in Wisconsin had to risk their health to vote in person at the polls, waiting in line for hours and forgoing the social distancing recommended by the CDC.2

Just under 19,000 people were able to cast their vote in Milwaukee, a city of half a million.3 More than 1.3 million people requested absentee ballots, but many didn’t receive them on time.4 Hundreds of thousands of people’s voices won’t be heard in the primary.

If Congress doesn’t pass national vote-by-mail, much of the country can see a similar fiasco in November.

Some states, like Colorado and Washington, already have successful vote-by-mail programs in place, while others, including swing states Ohio and Florida, don’t. Some states bar residents from voting by absentee ballot unless they can prove they will be away on Election Day or have a disability.5

Voting by mail has historically had bipartisan support. But now Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are trying to block a vote-by-mail law ahead of the November election, despite the possibility for chaos and votes to be suppressed.

Vote-by-mail is the best way to guarantee that every voter can cast a ballot safely in November, and we need to make a national mail-in ballot law happen now, while Congress is passing stimulus legislation. We’re helping tens of thousands of people email Congress to ask for vote-by-mail, and we’re publicly calling out members of Congress who try to block this critical legislation.

Will you donate $5 to help pass vote-by-mail legislation to protect our civic rights in November?

Thanks for standing with us.
