<[link removed]>We spend $740 billion on the Pentagon Budget. This Tax Day, tweet at your Congress person to tell them to #DivestFromWar and invest in social programs like universal healthcare!

Dear John,

Here’s a startling statistic: since the beginning of the global pandemic, the Pentagon has received $80 million an hour in our tax dollars. While hospitals beg for basic resources to protect nurses, over 10 million workers have been laid off nationally, and millions worry how they will pay for healthcare, the Pentagon remains fully funded and free to spread violence almost as fast as the Coronavirus.

Join CODEPINK for a twitter storm today, Tax Day,  and tell your Congress person that we need to #DivestFromWar and invest in vital social programs. <[link removed]> We may be physically distancing this Tax Day, but you can still join us in a strong show of social solidarity. It's like being in the streets together with banners that decry that we spend $740 billion of our tax dollars to fund war, violence and militarism. Join us to tweet at your Congress person to demand that they #DivestFromWar today!  <[link removed]>

We’re in the middle of a global pandemic, and it’s now clearer than ever that we should be redirecting government spending into important government agencies like the CDC <[link removed]>, which is why we’re hosting a 5-part webinar series about divesting from the war machine. RSVP to join CODEPINK and World Beyond War on our upcoming 5-part Divest from the War Machine webinar series, starting on April 23.  <[link removed]>This series will cover a range of important strategies and tactics needed to create a successful divestment campaign in your local community. There’s so much we can do to kickstart divest campaigns even while we’re physically distancing, so we hope you’ll join us <[link removed]>.

For decades our government has argued that war is a necessary evil, but the coronavirus has revealed what is truly essential in our society. On March 23, the UN Secretary General Guterres called for a worldwide ceasefire during the COVID-19 epidemic, making a strong case for what we already knew: that war is an unnecessary evil that the world cannot afford. Sign on to Join the UN Secretary General Guterres in their call for a worldwide ceasefire during the COVID-19 epidemic. <[link removed]>

This is a time for anyone who cares about ending the U.S. war machine tohelp us demand that our Congress people #DivestfromWar <[link removed]> and joining us at our upcoming Divest from the War Machine 5-part webinar series  <[link removed]>
