This national coronavirus emergency has exposed a fatal weakness… we rely on China to manufacture too many of our medical supplies.
Just as our reliance on foreign sources of oil was a national security issue --- which we resolved through natural gas development and domestic oil exploration --- this new threat must be met seriously.
The truth is, when American resolve is directed toward a single task --- as it now is with the coronavirus crisis --- we can do anything.
But, right now, China has too much influence over our medical supply chain.
Urgent action is needed.
