Boeing On The Brink Of Disaster šØ
A few weeks back, I told you I was fired up about this yearās Boeing incidents
<[link removed]>
and the total lack of accountability weāre seeing. Iām still fighting tooth
and nail to get to the bottom of it, so I wanted to give you a quick update.
Earlier this week, we had a closed-door meeting on the Transportation
Committeeāwhy it had to be closed-door, Iām still not sure. But either way,
these knuckleheads are telling us that itās all about basic economics. They say
itās cheaper and easier to have parts made overseas, so dadgummit, thatās what
theyāre doing.
Everybody talks big about āMade in America,ā but when push comes to shove, the
big boys donāt care. For them, itās all about the bottom line. But these arenāt
everyday products where quality is the only concernāthis is a matter oflife and
death
<[link removed]>
.
We canāt have Boeing putting profits over safety, folks. As someone who flies
at least twice a week, this whole thing scares the living daylights out of me,
and I know countless other Americans agree.
So, what can we do? How can both parties come together on some economic
policies that will help Boeing makes its stuff right here in the USA? Thatās
exactly what weāre trying to hash out in these meetings, and while itās only
the beginning, we better work quickly.
Whistleblowers keep coming forwardāand their claims

are damning. One said his bosses would pressure him to keep safety reports to
a minimum because they didnāt havetime to fix mistakes. This brave man said,
and I quote, āEverything I was seeing was like a ticking time bomb.ā
If that doesnāt send chills down your spine, I donāt know what will.
But hereās my promise to you: Iāll keep speaking out and digging for answers.
I refuse to sit back while a corporation like Boeingdodges responsibility

.
This thing isnāt going to blow over; Iām ready to see it through to the very
end until we know Americans can feel safe flying the friendly skies.

Remembering D-Day šŖ
This week marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day invasion, a pivotal moment
that turned the tide in World War II.
As I've shared before, my Uncle Roy bravely served during that time and died
in Normandy just two weeks after D-Day. He sacrificed his life for the freedoms
we cherish in Americaāand I think about it every time I look up at the flag
that draped his casket, which is hanging in my office.
When I left the Capitol building yesterday, I saw protesters exercising their
constitutional rights. It was an important reminder of how people in other
countries can only dream of such freedomsāfreedom of expression, freedom of
religion, the right to bear arms, and so much more.
We are privileged to live in the greatest country in the world, and we owe it
all to those who fought and died for it. They made the ultimate sacrifice, and
the best way to honor their memory is to preserve the freedoms for which they
gave their lives.
