This month marks two years since the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturned the right to an abortion. Now, Republicans are setting their sights on eradicating birth control altogether.

Since the Dobbs ruling, far-right conservatives have launched a widespread campaign of disinformation about contraception methods, including IUDs, emergency contraception, and birth control pills, claiming they induce abortions. These lies have fueled attacks against birth control and now threaten access to contraception in some states. 

Tell Congress: Take action to protect reproductive rights nationwide.

Senate Republicans this week blocked legislation that would enshrine a federal right to contraception, claiming that right was already protected by Supreme Court precedent. 

But they said the same thing about the right to abortion, and Justice Clarence Thomas even suggested reconsidering that ruling in his concurring opinion in Dobbs. Congress must step in and protect access to birth control before this disinformation is used to eliminate the right to choose.

 Every person has the right to make decisions about their own body, their own health, and their own future. Congress must take steps to protect reproductive rights on the federal level. That means codifying Roe v. Wade to restore the federal right to abortion, and it means passing legislation protecting access to contraceptives, including birth control pills, IUDs, and emergency contraception.

TAKE ACTION: Tell Congress to protect access to contraception.
