š Expanding the Map!
Earlier this year, we announced our official target states for this election cycle: Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, and Michigan.
But with so much at stake this year, we wanted to make a bigger impact.
Thatās why this month, we launched our 2024 Expansion Fund to raise the resources needed to expand the map and kickstart our work in New Hampshire and Minnesota.
Together, this grassroots community raised more than $12,000 into our expansion fund and helped us unlock an additional $10,000 from a generous donor in New York!
New Hampshire and Minnesota present critical opportunities to build progressive power, and we canāt wait to share which candidates weāll be endorsing from these two critical states.
š”Sister District Team Spotlight:
Sister District teams have hit the ground running, hosting incredible events to support our candidates. Here are a few highlights from the past month:
Sister District Sacramento held an in-person Meet and Greet with Kevin Volk, our brilliant candidate running in Arizona. It was their most successful fundraiser ever, and it raised triple their largest in-person candidate meet and greet from last year.
In total, 79 people attended, 99 people donated, and the team raised $18,500 to support Kevin and his campaign for AZ State House.
Sister District Sonoma West held a Virtual Book Talk for Patty Kim, running for Pennsylvania State Senate. Teaming up with the Sonoma East, MA-RI, and Southern Vermont teams, they hosted this wonderful conversation with Eileen Caroscio, author of Midlife, New Life, on resilience ā an essential ingredient for persevering through changes and challenges we face in life after fifty.
And Sister District South Bay held a Garden Party for Brittney Miller, who is running for Nevada State Assembly. Brittney joined their Garden Party held in a beautiful backyard setting with lots of fun get-to-know-you activities. Together, they raised $15,000 to help win this important race!
šØ In the News: Donald Trumpās Conviction
Last week, Donald Trump was found guilty on all counts in his New York criminal trial ā but that doesnāt stop him from running for President. And it doesnāt stop him from winning, either.
Trump is a grave threat to our democracy, and the only way we can stop him is at the ballot box. By driving up turnout in critical state legislative races in swing states, we can help stop him from taking back the White House ā and elect progressive leaders who will counteract Trump and the MAGA movement, no matter what happens in November.
