John,

Following severe weather in North Texas, we have been assisting with the evacuation and care of over 100 homeless animals from All American Dogs Shelter, whose facility was impacted by significant flooding.

TODAY, 50 cats will be flown to an ASPCA emergency shelter for continued care until they can be made available for adoption. During our ongoing response, compassionate people like you are needed more than ever. Please support all our efforts to reach vulnerable animals, with an urgent donation today.

This week, the ASPCA and Texas-based Animal Investigation & Response have been working together to urgently evacuate over 100 homeless animals displaced by severe weather in North Texas that resulted in significant flooding at the All American Dogs Shelter. Staff at All American Dogs had been working to assist families and pets in their tornado zone when they were tragically hit with the flooding, resulting in their need for disaster response assistance.

More than 50 shelter dogs were safely transported to an emergency facility operated by ASPCA teams outside of the disaster zone. And tomorrow, a second transport is scheduled to fly over 50 homeless cats to the same emergency facility.

All of the shelter animals relocated out of the impacted community are unowned prior to the flooding.

Working together to evacuate shelter animals out of the flood zone not only provides them with a much-needed safe haven, but it also helps free up local resources that will go toward continued relief efforts, including reuniting displaced pets with their owners. The evacuated animals will receive ongoing care from our expert medical, behavior and shelter teams until they can be made available for adoption.
