John, it’s Aaron Rouse –

As a former player, I would have never imagined that one day I’d be hosting the Virginia Tech Football staff as a State Senator in Richmond. To play football for the Hokies and serve Virginians as a State Senator are lifetime dreams in themselves, and I am humbled to have done both.

We aren't stopping now, John. This opportunity made me proud of how far we’ve come, but it also reminds me of the work ahead in my campaign to be Virginia’s next Lieutenant Governor.

Politics and sports may seem like two completely different worlds, but the principles that make an effective team are the same principles that make effective leadership. You have to stand up for what you believe; you have to be tough. But you also need compassion for a chance to find compromise.

We need a real team player to bridge the divide in our politics and make the Commonwealth stronger than ever. Will you chip in to support my campaign to be a Lieutenant Governor who will uplift all Virginians?

The lessons I learned on the field as a Hokie are part of what led me to the State Senate and helped push for historic legislation to strengthen our economy, defend the right to choose, and unlock the true potential of our schools – all while bringing people from across the political spectrum together. Now, I am working to bring those lessons to the Office of Lieutenant Governor. Will you chip in $10 to my campaign to help us get there?
